Isaac Zhuk (1902–1973) was a Soviet violinist, first violin in [a=Bolshoi Theatre Quartet] (1931–1968) and father of [a=Valentin Zhuk]. He had been playing at [a=Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra] from 1928 to 1952 (concertmaster since 1930), and acted as a concertmaster-soloist in the [url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/1470340]USSR State Symphonic Orchestra[/url] (1952–1969). Zhuk became the first musician in the Soviet Union to perform [a=Karol Szymanowski] and [url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/1437100]Vissarion Shebalin[/url] violin concertos.
