Marvin Yancy
Marvin Jerome Yancy
A Chicago based producer, songwriter and musician who married [a=Natalie Cole] (daughter of [a=Nat King Cole]) in 1976, fathered a son with her then divorced. Yancy then pastored his late father's church and recorded a handful of gospel albums, until 1985 when he suffered a fatal heart attack at age 34.
He was also part of a succesful producer/songwriter duo [a=Chuck Jackson (2)] & Marvin Yancy, who produced and co-wrote many of Natalie's biggest hits as well as [a=Ronnie Dyson], [a=Phyllis Hyman], [a=The Impressions] and many more.
