American singer / songwriter and producer.
Brother of [a=Lowman Pauling] & founding member of [url=http://www.discogs.com/artist/555773-5-Royales-The]The "5" Royales[/url]. In the 1950's, Clarence shortened his surname, dropping the "ing", and moved to Detroit where he became involved with [l1723]. He gained fame as [a=Stevie Wonder]'s mentor & main producer.
