British songwriter and music publisher, mainly active during the 1920s and 1930s. Connelly formed a publishing and songwriting team with fellow Brit [a=James Campbell] (aka. Jimmy Campbell). They also collaborated with other songwriters.
Among their best known compositions are [i]If I Had You[/i] (1928), [i]Goodnight Sweetheart[/i] (1931) and [i]Try A Little Tenderness[/i] (1933).
The duo of Connelly and Campbell sometimes used the alias [b][a=Irving King][/b].
